We are looking for outside cemetery maintenance help for an individual looking for full time employment and an opportunity to move up.
This position pays hourly $24,000-$32,000 annually depending on qualifications.

As Aiken’s premier cemetery, we have had the privilege of being able to help thousands of people with their cemetery arrangements, while remembering and honoring their loved ones. We provide a broad scope of products and services through the ownership, development, and operation of cemeteries in South Carolina. Customers are able to plan and pre-purchase their burial plot, vault, mausoleum space, memorial and other details connected to a burial.
We are currently seeking the right individual to join our maintenance team! We are seeking successful, compassionate, energetic, service minded individuals with integrity, This individual must have the ability to problem solve, listen, and following instructions.

Responsibilities:
Lawn Maintenance
Opening & closings of burials
Assemble and installation of memorials
Installation of vaults (outer burial containers)
Completion of daily work orders
Conduct Interment Verification Procedures
Preparation for burials and ensures the garden is clean and neat
Filling of grave, tamp, seed or sod
Follow all safety rules and precautions
Performance of preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Complete all required training
Adhere to Southlawn Cemetery’s standards
Performance of all duties in a timely manner as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment, including, but not limited to a shovel, pick, rake, sledge hammer, lawn mower, weed trimmer, leaf blower, chain saw and pump.
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, a dump truck, tractor, vault dolly, utility vehicle, marker trailer, dump trailer, jack hammer, tamp and backhoe.
- Accurately use a tape measure.
- Effectively communicate with the maintenance supervisor,.
- Properly lift heavy objects.
- Willingness to work in various adverse weather conditions.
- Learn and understand safety and security issues and implication.

Physical Demands:
Tasks require a variety of physical activities, generally involving muscular strain, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, sitting, reaching, lifting, etc. Mental application utilizes problem solving skills, memory for details, verbal instructions.

Each maintenance staff member will be expected to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by any person with authority to give instructions or assignments.
